MOUNT VERNON — Janice L. Todd, 88, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday morning, June 22, 2013, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Mount Vernon on Dec. 3, 1924, daughter of the late Ralph A. and Dorothy M. (Bishop) Fogle. Janice was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church in Mount Vernon, the Academia Garden Club, Buckeye Outdoor Nature Club and the Dilly Dally’s. She retired after 30 years of service for the Seventh-day Adventist Book Store.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Todd; brothers, Ralph “Bud” and Ronald R. Fogle; a granddaughter, Dori Ann Clutter; and a longtime special friend, Earl Sauder.

Janice is survived by her children, Thomas E. (Donna) Todd of Woodbine, Md., Danny L. (Patty) Todd of Howard, Durke (Brenda) Todd of Mount Vernon, Billye Sue Newton of Zanesville and Elizabeth (Bruce) Taylor of Indianapolis, Ind.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Grace) Fogle of Mount Vernon; sisters, Rosie Auskings of Mount Vernon, Shirley Clutter of Bulverde, Texas, and Nova Raymond of St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Fred Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
