MOUNT VERNON — Sharon D. Overly, 72, of Ransom Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 18, 1940, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late William and Violet (Wiley) Weatherford. Sharon enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Trina (Steve) Scott of Mount Vernon, Paul (Candice) Overly of Cincinnati, Tim (Tina) Overly of Howard, Jesse (Lisa) Overly of Howard, Bob (Heather) Overly and Shirlee Overly, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; twenty-two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leslie (Rose) Weatherford of Atlanta, Ga.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Overly; a daughter, Barbara Yantis; a son, James Overly; and two sisters, Judith Loughry and Billie Vogel.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery. Pastor Tim Overly will be officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Sharon D. Overly.
