CHESTERVILLE — A. Grace Sipes, of Chesterville, went to be with her heavenly father Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at the Morrow Manor Care Center in Chesterville. Grace loved her family, and was there with support and a helping hand whenever needed.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Sipes; and granddaughter, Denise Beam.

She is survived by her two daughters, M. Ruth (Arnold) Beam and Jane (James) Rose; four grandchildren, Julie Beam (Larry) Tiller, Leslie Beam, Wesley (Patti) Beam and Corby (Neidi) Beam; six great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Grace worked at the Autolite plant in her early married life until her husband Chester bought a grocery store in Chesterville. She loved meeting and talking to people, and continued meeting and serving the community when Chet and she built and operated the Chesterville Convalescent Home.

Grace belonged to the Rebecca’s and Ohio Eastern Star. She was a talented quilter, knitter, painter and did crocheting. Grace refinished furniture, played the piano and loved to read, but nothing was better than being with the family and she will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service to follow at noon at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, officiated by Rev. Dr. Keith Bohley. A committal service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow Manor Nursing Center; 115 S. Portland St., Chesterville OH 43317.
