MOUNT VERNON — Kevin N. Smith, 60, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday evening Feb. 9, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 1953, in Columbus, to the late William and Bettie (McDonald) Smith. He was a superintendent for Arlington Construction in Columbus building White Castle Restaurants A member of the Mt. Zion Lodge No. 9 F&AM and attended Centerburg Church of Christ.
Kevin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and missed being home with them when his work assignment took him out of state. Kevin loved to build things. He completely refurbished the home where he lived. He loved camping, fishing and parties.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Ruark and they were married Aug. 2, 1997, in Mount Vernon; sons, Shawn (Jamie) Smith of Leland, S.C., and Ryan Smith of Mount Vernon; stepson, Jason (Shelia) Moore of Grove City; stepdaughter, Melissa (Louie) Silvia of S.C.; and grandchildren, Damien, Anya, Ava, Bryson, Joe and Steve.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, at noon, at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, with Pastor Janet Ruark officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service and interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery.
