MOUNT VERNON — Anna Mae Dexter, 92, of McGibney Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at Country Court Nursing Home. She was born July 30, 1921, in Milford Township, to the late George W. and Hazel Mae (Wheeler) Parker. Anna enjoyed the simple things in life, such as a good game of bingo, doing a craft or just spending quality time with her family and friends. She cherished a good family meal and the times of laughter and love. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Dexter, Cheryl Dexter and Alice Jackey all of Mount Vernon; special son, Steve Dexter; son-in-law, Ivan Cline; 13 grandchildren, Jack Masters, Kathy Boroff, Jon Jackey, Stephanie Frazee, Heather Darnold, Jenny Cline, Stevie Dexter, Jackie Dexter, Jackie Wheeler, Patty Wheeler, Sharon Cline, Pam Horlacher and Cindy Cline; numerous great-grandchildren, greatgreat- grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and four sisters, Georgia Obrenvich of Norwalk, Elizabeth Whaler of Willard, Mary Ruth Ferrell of Milan and Alice Lester of Fredericktown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Dexter; a son, James Hamilton; two daughters, Dixie Cline and Phyllis Jervis; great-grandson, Josh Andersnake; brother, Russell Parker; sister, Flora Brown; and son-in-law, Dave Jackey.
A graveside service will be held Friday, at 2 p.m., in St. Johns Cemetery in Mount Vernon. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Anna Mae Dexter.
