Sealed bids will be received by the City of Mount Vernon at the office of the Safety-Service Director, 40 Public Square, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050, until 11:00 am EST, September 3, 2020 for “Sandusky Street Utility Improvements 2020”, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Additional details are available in the Documents Library at www.MountVernonOhio.org This project consists of installing approximately 345LF of sanitary sewer line 2,000 LF water main along Sandusky ST; Northview DR; and Stump ST; as indicated in the drawings and specifications. This project consist of improvements to the intersection of N Main ST (SR3) and Chestnut ST (SR13) which will include increasing the radii of the two north intersection returns; relocating sidewalk and curb ramps, driveway, fire hydrant, and drainage structures; and installation of a new traffic signal as indicated in the drawings and specifications. ADVERTISEMENT TO BID


Sealed Bids for the construction of Water System Improvements Contract B - Well Work, Contract C - Water Tank Painting for the Village of Martinsburg will be received by the Knox County Board of Commissioners until 10:00 a.m., local time, August 27, 2020 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read.

The work for which Bids are invited consists of the furnishing of all materials and labor for the construction of the following:

Contract B - Construction of a new water supply well, well building and installing all new waterlines from wells to storage tank. The estimated construction cost for Contract B - $300,000.00.

Contract C - Painting of the interior and exterior of a 75,000 gallon multi-column elevated water storage tank, repairs to the cathodic protection and installation of a tank mixing system. The estimated construction cost for Contract C - $336,000.00.

Copies of the Contract Documents are available on Dropbox through the Knox County Board of Commissioner’s Office. All prospective bidders must contact the Knox County Board of Commissioners by email, at commissioners@co.knox.oh.us or call 740-393-6703 to obtain the link to the Contract Documents in Dropbox, Bidders are required to register with and obtain Bidding Documents from the office of Knox County Board of Commissioners.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The Owner intends and requires that Contract B be completed no later than 02/28/2021 and Contract C be completed no later than 07/31/2021.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of the project. Additionally, contractor compliance with equal employment opportunity requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required.

Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Knox County and the Village of Martinsburg, Ohio as determined by the Davis Bacon Act.

The right is reserved by the Knox County Board of Commissioners to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities or to accept any Bid which is deemed favorable to the Knox County Board of Commissioners.
