HOWARD — Robert Patrick Nobile, 79, of Howard, formerly of Columbus, passed away after an accident Dec. 31, 2013. Bob was born Feb. 14, 1934, to the late Dominic and Mary Nobile in Columbus. He graduated at Linden McKinley High School before entering the U.S. Army.

Bob was retired as a machinist; and worked for Kinnear Door and IRD Mechanalysis Inc. He also worked part-time for Shell gas stations on Cleveland Ave., 3C, 161 and Karl Road. Bob loved all animals; cats, dogs and even crows. His favorite sport was pitching horse shoes and he won the 1970 Ohio State Class B State Championship. He loved tournament fishing and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Houck) Nobile; children, Thomas (Cindy) Nobile and daughter, Melody O’Grady; grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Short and Thomas Nobile II; brothers, Don (Phyllis) Nobile and John (Judy) Nobile; sisters-in-law, Dixie (Ray) Luzader and Diana Kramer; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Pfeifer Funeral Home, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will follow Monday, noon, with Rev. Trent Snider officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery. Online condolences available at
