ELGIN, Texas — Barbara Ann Hall-Stamper, 65, of Elgin, Texas, and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1948, in Seymour, Ind., to the late Clarence and Roberta (Lennox) Babcock. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Shawn Allen and Chad Merriman of Elgin, Texas, and Melissa Allen of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Bryndon and Aaron Allen both of Arizona; a great-granddaughter, Mya Allen; and a brother, Kenneth Babcock of Norton, Ohio.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stamper; a half-brother, Allen Babcock; and a half-sister, Maxine Babcock.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glen Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is handling the arrangements for the family of Barbara Ann Hall-Stamper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
