MOUNT VERNON — A funeral service for Edna Lenora Scott will be held on Monday, at 1 p.m., at Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, with Minister, Rick Tincher officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the funeral. Interment will follow at the Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.

Edna went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the Country Court Nursing Home.

Edna was born July 19, 1923, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to Seldon E. and Mary E. (Ashburn) Dailey. The family moved back to Knox County when Edna was 6 months old, and she lived here the rest of her life. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She worked at Kenyon College and retired from the phone company. She was active in 4-H and Girl Scouts when her children were growing up. She was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann (Jon) Raymond of Heath and Tanya Fry of Atlanta; her son, Dale Scott of Heath; grandchildren, Barry (Julie) Raymond of Westerville, Brigette (Chad) Short of Newark, Bret (Johnna) Raymond of Bentonville, Ark., and Sheldon and Stephany Scott of Texas; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Paul (Lois) Dailey of Mount Vernon; nephews, Michael (Bonnie) Dailey and Mark (Roni) Dailey; and three great-nieces. She is also survived by a family dear to her heart, Hank, Beth, James and Gwen Hoeffgen of Gambier.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Duane Fry and a grandson, Brian Raymond.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Country Court for their loving care of Edna during her time there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the Eastside Church of Christ in Edna’s name is suggested by the family.
