MOUNT VERNON — Richard J. Blubaugh, 67, of Mount Vernon, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, March 26, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Mount Vernon, to Dwight Blubaugh and the late Geraldine (Gamber) Blubaugh.

Richard was a graduate of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School and was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed racing go-carts and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his father, Dwight of Mount Vernon; his wife, Nerina (Pilotti) Blubaugh; his children, Joette Blubaugh of Mount Vernon, Stacy (Becky) Blubaugh of Mount Vernon and Tina (Randy) Plasse of Howard; grandchildren, Cruz Harwell, Brody Harwell, Alexi Richert, Matt Ott, Richie Blubaugh, Kelsey Plasse, and RJ Plasse; two great grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Casondra) Blubaugh of Dallas, Texas, and Robert (Helen) Blubaugh of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Richard is preceded in death by a son, Richard Joseph Blubaugh Jr.

In following with Richard’s wish, there will not be any services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School, (Renovation Project) 206 East Chestnut St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050 in Richard’s memory.
