MOUNT VERNON — Rita M. Durbin, 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away March 27, 2014, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Danville, and was the daughter of the late Clement P. and Elnora (Fritz) Durbin.

Rita was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She retired from AEP after 38 years with the company.

Rita is survived by her four sisters, Frances B. Miller, Mary A. Blubaugh, Theresa Durbin, all of Mount Vernon; and Rose Goodof of Florida; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Alphonsus Durbin, Rev. Clement Durbin, George Durbin and Paul J. Durbin; and a sister, Agnes Harlett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as celebrant. Friends may call at the church Monday, one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in St. Luke Catholic Cemetery in Danville. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Homes are handling the funeral services for the Durbin family.
