MOUNT VERNON — Mary B. Hornyak, 96, of Mount Vernon, passed away at her residence with her family by her side Friday, March 28, 2014.

She was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Finleyville, Pa., to the late John and Barbara (Molnar) Nagypaul.

Mary was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bruce Gillan of Mount Vernon; her four grandchildren, Todd (Kim) Nemecek, Tim Nemecek, Laura (Jeff) Lange, and Erica (David) Hodes; a sister, Anna Farkas; and 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hornyak; a granddaughter, Danielle Beauchamp; along with four sisters and three brothers.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oregon, Ohio, at a later date. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Homes are handling the arrangements for the Hornyak family.
