COLUMBUS — Mary Anna (Tracy) Murnieks, 76, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born Jan. 25, 1938, in Danville, to Duke Vaughn and Evelyn E. (Church) Tracy. She served in the U.S. Marines from 1958-1959. She was a former member, pianist and choir director at the Danville Church of Christ, and used to own and operate the seamstress shop on the corner in Danville. She retired from The Ohio State University in 2002 after 18 years as an administrative assistant.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and also four brothers, Marvin G. Tracy, Richard Vaughn Tracy, James F. Tracy, and Thomas Michael Tracy.

She is survived by her children, Andrea Hoying of Slidell, La., Michael (Sharon) Murnieks of Hilliard, Eric (June) Murnieks of Dublin, Christopher Murnieks of South Bend, Ind., and Lara (Rob) Stewart of Hilliard; grandchildren, Andy, Anna, Alex, Jamie, Connor and Olivia; a brother, H. Christopher Tracy of Lexington; and her former husband and friend, Andrejs Murnieks.

A funeral service will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday.
