MOUNT VERNON — Carl E. Ebie, 96, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Emeritus at HillenVale. He was born July 4, 1917, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Edwin and Birdie (Grantham) Ebie. Carl retired as a general foreman in 1980 after 40 plus years of employment with Timken Roller Bearing in Canton, Ohio. Carl was a member and served as past Master of McKinley Lodge 431, Scottish Rite, York Rite Bodies and Aladdin Shrine.

He is survived by his son, Daniel (Anne) Ebie of Grapevine, Texas; a daughter, Carlyn (Bob Adelwerth) Drewyor of Hobe Sound, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Ebie; a son, Michael Ebie; a granddaughter; a brother, Ralph Ebie; and two sisters, Mary Frances Ebie and Ellen Kegg.

A Masonic service followed by a Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, beginning at 3 p.m., at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A private graveside service will be held in North Lawn Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.

Memorial contributions in Carl’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
